Dr. James Marcelli
Dr. James Marcelli is a general dentist with over 24 years of experience. Dr. Jim and his PVD team pride themselves in being able to provide patients with the highest level of dental care. He performs a wide variety of treatment and services, including implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, root canal therapy, and CEREC digital dentistry, which allows him to provide same day crowns, bridges, and veneers.
Dr Jim is a 1988 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He received a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Penn State University. Dr Jim went on and received his Doctorate Degree in Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1996. He returned home and joined his father, Dr. Rudy Marcelli, in practice.
Dr. Axelle Wiegering-Marcelli
Dr. Axelle Wiegering-Marcelli is a general dentist who has been practicing family dentistry for over 24 years Dr. Axelle and her PVD team are dedicated to helping patients achieve excellent oral health and a beautiful smile.
Dr. Axelle is a 1989 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. She received a Bachelors Degree in Animal Bio Science from Penn State University. She then went to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and received her Doctorate Degree in Dental Medicine in 1996. Upon graduation, Dr. Axelle went on and completed a General Practice Residency at Monmouth Medical Center. She returned home and began her general dentistry practice along side her then fiancé, Dr. Jim.
After 8 years practicing with Dr. Rudy, Dr. Jim’s and Dr. Axelle’s practices out grew the space and in 2005, they opened Pleasant Valley Dental, which provides the latest in advanced technology and techniques in the dental field. They are committed to providing quality dental care to families located in Blair County.
